Music

I've always used writing as an outlet for emotions, and have a pile of notebooks and journals next to our bed to show for it. I can open one up and thumb to any page and be taken back to that exact moment. I can feel the fear or the excitement all over again. Some of it is poetic, some of it is just free writing. I've attempted a few songs, but I'm missing one crucial aspect of song writing: I can't sing. I can carry a tune, but the only person who enjoys listening to me sing songs in loops is Ariana.

I was sent a link to a song that I have listened to countless times in the past couple days. Her voice is captivating and her singing gives me goosebumps. She captures that moment beautifully and even though it's not my words from my experience I can feel the cold jelly and the Doppler on my stomach and still hear that racing heartbeat like it was the firs time again. i thought I would share it here so other Mommies can relive that moment again.

I found out that you have linked to my blog and that you put up SaraihBella's song via statcounter.

I am so glad that I visited your blog as you and I sound a bit like soul sisters! We have soo much in common.

Like you I also love songwriting, but I can't play the guitar (I've tried but I'm all thumbs) and I can't sing (though I do sing for my children as kids could care less what mom sounds like.)

Since you've visited my blog you might have noticed the links I have to a couple of songs I wrote. Since I can't sing them I have had two singers record them for me for youtube. I am always asking people if they'll sing for my blogs. I have a lullaby favorites blog as well as a blog of my own songs in case someone finds them and just happens to want to sing them for me! (which hasn't happened yet! :(

I am so glad you like Sarah's song as much as I do. She had another song up on youtube entitled "Two Hands" about young parents and I just loved it! Unfortunately, she took it down with the hopes of recording on a cd. You can become part of SairahBella's fan club on Face Book. She has some other incredible songs on youtube also.

Anyway, so nice to meet another woman who shares so many of my own passions!
