Poolside Beauty

Ariana has leaped into toddlerhood with both feet first and hasn't looked back! Her signing and verbal words are growing daily, as are her comprehension skills! Mommy says "dance Ariana!" and she dances. Mommy says "No-no Ariana, that's boo boos!" and she walks away from the baby toddler hazard. Daddy says "Ariana bring Daddy the remote!" and she runs the remote over with a grin.

We spent last weekend at Nanny and Pop Pop's for the Jewish New Year, Yom Kippur. On Friday we were bathing beauties. Well, Ariana was a bathing beauty and Mommy was a beached whale but you get the picture! I left the hose in the kiddie pool on a soft spray and she played with it for hours. I pulled up a chaise lounge and a good book and was actually able to read it in it's entirety in one sitting. That's the first time since before August 31st, 2008! There was the occasional break where I had to jump up and run for cover because firewomen Ariana was swinging the hose in my direction giggling uncontrollably, and the sunscreen reapplications for both of us, but it was still a tiny slice of heaven for the day!

Then we tried out a new mini swing set that Nanny found. She's still not a fan of swinging but she tolerated this one for a record setting 10.5 seconds!

After all this playing, it was time to help out with some housework and earn our keep. (and work on her new fear of vacuum cleaners.).

Then she decided the pool was more fun and climbed in fully clothed.

Of course after being stripped down she wanted to help out with some gardening. Bubbles seemed like the perfect way to clean up afterwards. She was in awe of the shiny floating orbs Nanny kept sending her way!

What a full day for an almost 13 month old!
