almost forgot

Ariana's stats as of August 25th:

weight: 27lbs 7oz
height: 37"

our supermodel in the making!!!!!!!

"They" say that you can calculate a child's estimated adult height by doubling their height at 2 years old. According to that formula, Ariana could be 6'1.5". I was teased unmercifully throughout school for being so tall and broad. In elementary school when group class photos were still done I was always in the center of the back row. I watched all of my friends have relationships in high school while I remained one of the guys because no one saw me that way. I had pizza thrown at my in the lunch room, and I was called fat (at a whopping 5'9" and 150-155 when I was 16-18) and ugly. Kids can be so cruel!

My heart is understandably breaking for my amazing daughter at the thought of her dealing with the same ridicule. Even if she uses it to her advantage and excels in basketball or volleyball, it's still hard feeling like a big oaf next to your friends.

I'll have to try to find my growth charts from infancy on to see if there's any truth to it.

We had such a similar experience! I was 5'10" in sixth grade, and was teased mercilessly. Kids can be so cruel. When I got to middle school and high school everyone else started catching up, and I became an athlete. I'm SO, SO glad I am this tall. It made my twin pregnancy much easier (more space for them to spread out) than it would have been if I was 5'4" or something. We are hoping are girls will be tall (my hubby is 6'5") and athletic, or in some other way gifted, so that they can earn college scholarships :)
